Mrs. Sharon Henderson 1985-87

Sharon Henderson served Alpha Sigma Chapter as treasurer, president, parliamentarian, and legislation chair.  She was a member of the membership committee.
Her contributions to Alpha Epsilon State included being elected corresponding secretary, 1st vice-president, program chair, and then state president 1985-1987.  She participate in the planning of the state organization’s 50thAnniversary and was a member of the 1989-1993 Star Walk committee. Sharon was chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on State Grants.  She was registrar for the 1999 Northeast Regional Conference held in Indianapolis. She has served as state parliamentarian for several biennia.  
Sharon was selected to become the state executive secretary 1995-1999, 1999-2004.  She often commented at the state meetings that “my job is to make your job easier”-- and she did!
At the international level, Sharon Henderson first served as chair of the professional affairs committee.  She attended the 1982 Golden Gift Leadership/Management Seminar.  Ms. Henderson chaired the Ad Hoc US Forum Committee, and the next biennium chaired the newly-organized 1988-2000 US Forum.  She also was chair of the 1998-2000 Constitution Committee.  In 2002 she was elected Northeast Regional Director prior to becoming International 2ndVice-President the next biennium. 
Ms. Sharon Henderson has given much time and energy to the Society for forty years.  She also has served her community as teacher of English and as a media specialist in the North Judson-San Pierre schools.  Sharon was president of the Pulaski County Library Board during the planning and opening of the Medaryville branch library.  She currently has an active role in the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, serving as chairman of the Bylaws and Rules Committee and as Area 3 Director.   Sharon has been an accomplished stitcher for years and has had local and statewide involvement in the Embroidery Guild of America.
