Mrs. Jo Ann Manes, 2015-2017

Mrs. Jo Ann Manes, Beta Delta Chapter leader, has served actively and diligently.  She chaired the communications committee, has served as chapter treasurer for several years, and was the 1996-1998 president of Beta Delta Chapter.  She chaired Coordinating Council 1 and has been secretary/treasurer of that council.  
During her tenure as chapter president, Jo Ann also became active at the state level.  She would serve as chair of the state financial, membership, and rules committees.  She was appointed 2007-2009 state parliamentarian prior to being elected 2ndvice-president.  As 1stvice-president she was responsible for the state Educational Excellence programs.  In 2015 Mrs. Manes was elected Alpha Epsilon State President.  During her biennium as state president, she visited many chapters around the state and often spoke about the international project, Schools for Africa.
Jo Ann was appointed treasurer for the 2014 Indianapolis International Convention.  She was well-known for her superior charting of responsibilities for more than one successful state conference and convention.  She continues to be a familiar face at regional and international conferences and conventions.
Mrs. Jo Ann Manes has supported professional and community organizations with her time and energy.  Currently she is active in the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, where she is the coordinator of Areas 1 & 2 fall workshop and serves on the Board of Directors as Area 1 representative.  She currently is president of the Lake County Retired Teachers Association.
