Blanchealine Johnson was a gracious, dedicated educator, an encourager, who spoke in a positive manner, kindly acknowledging the dedication of others.
She served Beta Lambda Chapter as president and in other capacities.  She was named 1972 chair of the Bloomington Coordinating Council.
Bee, as she was known to her friends, served as state World Fellowships chair, Professional Affairs chair, 2nd vice president, and a member of an ad hoc committee on workshops.  In 1979 she was elected to the state presidency.  In 1985 Blanchealine Johnson was named state parliamentarian.
Mrs. Johnson spent 20 years in the New Albany and Bloomington junior and senior high schools, teaching world history, anthropology, sociology, geography, history and English.  Not surprisingly, she was a voracious reader; in the summer she averaged six books each week, in the winter, she made time for one or two books weekly.
A quote from Bee:  “Who …is the ideal DKG – or exemplifies that ideal?  (It is) the rank and file member who carries out the tasks to make us a living organism.”
