Ina Van Duyn, Beta Tau Chapter, has been an encourager and a leader for others.  She served the chapter and its members to promote the ideals of DKG.  Ina not only has been elected chapter president twice but fulfilled other roles as needed.  She continues to be an active member of CC8.
Mrs. Van Duyn was a member of the first state leadership/management seminar, served as 1995-1997 membership chair, then recording secretary for two biennia.  She was elected to the office of 2ndvice-president in 2003.
Ina implemented the Point of Light as 2007-2009 Alpha Epsilon State President.  At the time of her biennium, Alpha Epsilon State was celebrating its 70thbirthday.  Ina chose to challenge chapters and individuals to purchase a candle, the income used to build funds for the 2014 International Convention taking place in Indianapolis.  She introduced members and guests to Flat Annie at a state convention, building enthusiasm for the Society.
Ina Van Duyn attended the 1997 Golden Gift Seminar in Austin and the 2007 Leadership Conference as incoming state president. She composed poetry to lure DKG members to attend the 1999 Northeast Regional held in Indianapolis.
As an educator she was honored as Carmel-Clay’s 1999 Teacher of the Year, taught Early Childhood Curriculum at Butler University, supervised student teachers, and received the IRTA Clock Award for Community Service.
As an active member of her church, Ina continues to support its programs with her time and energy.
